Usability testing is, at the best of times, a complex part of the design process that requires clear objectives and tasks with specific definitions of success and time limits. There are numerous ways to conduct your testing, from traditional one-on-one testing either in the flesh or remotely to more "high tec" methods such as automated testing tools like Bobby and WAVE, to eye-tracking and recording the screen activity.

Setting up and conducting really depends on client, budget and resources. You might be able to do it in-house, you might have to get an external company to do it for you.
